Injection Molding Tool 3D Scanned

A client running a large injection molding facility needed an injection molding tool 3D scanned to expand production on an existing product line. The tool could not be removed from the machine for more than a few hours due to high demand for the finished product. Veritas traveled to the manufacturer and scanned the tooling with a FARO ScanArm on the production floor limiting the time manufacturing was halted. During the modeling phase the scan data was analyzed for wear and digitally repaired before delivery of CAD geometry. The analysis of the worn tool was also used to add material to the worn surfaces of the original tool improve the geometry of the product being manufactured. In the end, a better product was being produced twice as fast. If you have a similar project please contact us for a free quote.
